Thoughts on relationships in the local Church – Fathers and Mothers

This post maybe confronting for some people. Please know that at times we are all challenged and just take your feelings to God.

The deep longing and desire for us to have a significant and meaningful relationship with God and each other is a major driver for our lives.  This is a God given call in our lives.  When we have genuine connections with God and each other there is real joy.

We then (sometimes) play at church; we sit in a pew looking at the back of someone’s head, sing a few songs, shake hands and say God bless you. But! How often do we walk with people through their troubles, how often do we get to heart issues and really carry each other?  Continue reading “Thoughts on relationships in the local Church – Fathers and Mothers”

Zoom Prayer — Where to from here?

It been so wonderful for us (Kym & Nel) to be praying together night after night in the Canberra Declaration Zoom prayer meetings for our nation of Australia during this Covid-19 pandemic.

There is always a good number of people praying each night on Zoom, and some are there every night.  Warwick even had to purchase a larger package on Zoom to accommodate even more intercessors the time when our Prime Minister Scott Morrison came on the call to pray during the prayer intensive 29th March 2020. Times and seasons – Moed or Kairos vs Chronos time – Harvest Time !

As we conclude 75 days of online Zoom prayer since 19th March 2020 and finish the Pentecost celebration it is worth reviewing its significance in terms of God’s divine timing.

The word Moed (Hebrew: ????, “Festivals” also “appointed time”) provides specific instructions for the rituals, observances and laws related to holidays and festivals. It also carries the idea of God’s dynamic powerful appointed time. Kairos is an Ancient Greek word meaning the right, critical, or opportune moment. Thoughts and prayers on Anzac Day 25th April

Anzac Light Horse

It is well known that most who served in the Anzac forces were believers in our Lord Jesus. Many carried bibles.  I share three stories here. First, Harry Bell who lied about his age to join the Australian Light Horse and gave his life at the Charge on Be’er Sheva. Secondly, how both Australia and New Zealand fought to win the battle. Thirdly, Fighting Mac who was a chaplain for the Anzac’s. Continue reading “Thoughts and prayers on Anzac Day 25th April”

Feasts of the old covenant fulfilled in Jesus Christ (Yeshua Hamashiach)

Sunset today is the start of Pesach (Passover) and Matzah (Unleavened Bread) which goes until nightfall next Thursday.  So this is a great opportunity to have a look at the feasts of God in the old testament.

There are seven main feasts in the old testament and three of these have a requirement to go up to Jerusalem. Pesach, Shavuot, and Sukkot are the Three Pilgrimage Festivals (Shalosh Regalim) during which the entire population of the kingdom of Judah made a pilgrimage to the Temple in Jerusalem.

The Moedim (Appointed Times) of the Lord are often called the “Jewish Feasts,” but they are not solely for Israel. There are instructions for the “sojourner among you” to be able to participate along with Israel in the Feasts of God. Any follower of the Lord is eligible (but not obligated) to participate. We all will participate in the Olam Haba (the Age to come); see Isaiah 66 and Zechariah 14 when all of these feast are fulfillied in Christ. Jesus Christ the Passover Lamb

In the last few days the word Passover (??????? Pesach in Hebrew) has come in prayer and worship as a prophetic statement from the Lord. It is time to declare Passover over the current world situation. This plague will pass over when we have the Blood of the Lamb over our lives.

Let’s consider what the true Passover is. First, it is the story of the final plague of Egypt (Angel of Death) passing over the Israelites who were captive in Egypt. (Exodus 12:12-13) All who had the blood of a sacrificial lamb painted on the door posts were saved from the death plague. It is in the Passover Lamb we are delivered. Wuhan Coronavirus, Wars and Rumours of Wars, Men’s Hearts Failing

In the last little while many Christians have been commenting on the Wuhan Coronavirus, and even some conspiracy theories regarding all sorts of situations which I won’t repeat.  Bluntly this means some believers’ focus is way off.

Matthew 24 tells of wars, rumours of wars, pestilences, earthquakes, lawlessness, and deception.
It is obvious that these things are happening, and time is short. The key to navigating all of these things is in Jesus’ words in verse Matthew 24:6 ‘See that you are not troubled’. Continue reading “Wuhan Coronavirus, Wars and Rumours of Wars, Men’s Hearts Failing”

Discovering our Authority in praying for Rain

The challenge of the drought, strength of the Church and the humility to ask for rain relying on God’s grace.
Refer here to Canberra Declaration

  • 2 Chronicles 7:12-16
  • Ezekiel 22:30
  • Acts 14:17

We, in Australia are a nation of sinners who have sinned against God; including murdering our children and elderly, ignoring God’s moral law, and all manner of other actions against the Lord and His word. Continue reading “Discovering our Authority in praying for Rain”

The Blood of Jesus

Nel showed me something about the name Adam today, it contains the word blood in Hebrew!  So, I started digging a bit deeper.  Here are the Hebrew words to consider:

  • ??????? Adamah – out of the earth God created  Genesis 2:19
  • ????? (aleph, dalet, mem) Adam – man
  • ????? Adam – the red (i.e. red earth) [same spelling, one different vowel]
  • ???? (dalet, mem) Blood (dam) – contained in the name Adam

Did the Lord God give a random and meaningless name to his first creation?  Of course not!  The combination of both ‘bloody’ and ‘earthly’ aspects form the original components not only of Adam’s identity, but of the Lord’s message to His creation: this ‘flesh and blood’ man.  We know that the Bible shows the significance of the blood ‘dam’ of living creatures, but it all starts here, in the name ‘Adam’.

What struck me was the idea that salvation through the blood of Yeshua (Jesus) was embedded within the very beginning of our creation.  It is only by the shedding of blood there is forgiveness and salvation (Hebrews 9:22). Continue reading “The Blood of Jesus”

The Miracle of the Australian 2019 Election

Here are some insights on the huge national prayer effort and the 2019 election outcome.   We must recognise and give thanks to the Lord that this prayer effort and His grace has brought about a miracle result.

There were many prayer initiatives around the nation. Many groups, congregations, and individuals have prayed for the  election and the issues surrounding it.  A cry for the innocents killed by abortion, moral issues, and a cry for righteous Government.

There has been more prayer by more Christians in unity for this one main issue than ever before in this nation.  Coupled with things like the Graham Tour and Awakening Australia there is a spiritual change in the nation. Continue reading “The Miracle of the Australian 2019 Election”

Raising a generation of Deborahs

This post is based on a personal word for someone recently, this is the generic version applicable to many of the next generation women of God. There are leaders raising up an Army of Deborahs, Jaels, and Esthers; especially Deborahs. This post is also related to a previous post regarding Jael.

Some of this word may apply to you or not; we trust that the part the Holy Spirit quickens what you need to hear. Continue reading “Raising a generation of Deborahs”

The name of the Lord – with a more complete understanding

The Name of the Lord:   ???? [updated]

The name of the Lord is known theologically as the Tetragrammaton and consists of 4 Hebrew letters ????  yod hey vav hey (right to left) and is usually transliterated into English as Jehovah, Yahweh, or YHWH.  In this post we will look at the meaning of this name and also the meaning of the ancient Hebrew characters that name up the name of the Lord.  Typically in some English translations of the bible the form LORD (all uppercase) is used to denote the name of God.

In Judaism the name of God is not usually written (other than the scriptures, i.e. the Torah) and is usually spoken or written as HaShem (The Name) or Adonai (The Lord) out of reverence for the Lord. The meaning of the word is “I am” or “I continue to be” or even more accurately “the self existent one”.
This also explains why some people write G-d for the Lord especially when written by Jewish people.

We know from the ancient Hebrew each character is derived from a pictograph.  See the chart below. As I have studied this and prayed I felt the Lord show me a deep understanding of His name. Continue reading “The name of the Lord – with a more complete understanding”
