The Hecht Trauma Institute is a global provider of affordable and culturally-sensitive training, research, and consulting opportunities for professionals and paraprofessionals serving persons affected by trauma. We accomplish this by bringing together thought leaders in the field of traumatology and trauma-informed care, who create premier online and in-person workshops, seminars, conferences, and consulting services. We collaborate with other institutions and organizations to enrich knowledge and strengthen advocacy for those impacted by complex trauma.
HTI is grateful for the ongoing support of California Southern University, a WASC-accredited 100%-online university,
and The House of Ruach, a Ca. 501c3.
Life is filled with losses and traumas, both big and small. We have a choice: will we be squashed by life or will we find the joy in living every day? Regardless of what life brings us or what we bring to our own life, if we can find the meaning in our experiences, the wisdom buried deep within, we have the opportunity to transform the muddy, algae-covered, jagged river rocks of trauma and loss into precious spiritual gems.
- Dr. Gwen Finestone Hecht, Finding the Gems
If there is a meaning in life at all, then there must be a meaning in suffering.
-Victor Frankl, Mans Search for Meaning
You are not broken, nor do you need to be fixed. You simply need to be uncovered and allowed to shine. .
