Ruach Presents Power of Pentecost

The Power of the Pentecost, a one-day seminar aimed at women of faith, will be sponsored by Ruach Christian Community Fellowship on Saturday, June 11, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel, 6101 West Century Boulvard in Los Angeles. Pastor Lewis Logan II and First Lady Sudonna Moss Logan are the hosts.
Three workshops will be presented. Workshop I at 9 a.m., is entitled Winning the Battle of the Mind. The scripture reference is Romans 7:15 21. Featured will be Rev. Thembekila Coleman-Smart, co-pastor of Christ Liberation Ministries; First Lady Kathye Jenkins, Abundant Grace Bible Church; First Lady Emeritus Solombra Ingram, Maranatha Community Church; and Dr. Betty Knight and Dr. Wanda Clemons, Ruach.
Entrepreneur and philanthropist Wendy Gladney will also be a presenter at Workshop I. An author, motivational speaker and L.A. Sentinel columnist, Gladney is owner of Personal Services Plus, an event management company, and Forgiving For Living, Inc., a nonprofit organization. Also, she wrote and produced the stage play, Memories of a Preachers Daughter: A Story of Forgiveness. Her book, Memories of a Preachers Daughter: A Memoir, will be available for purchase.
Workshop II, Delight Thyself in the Lord, is based on Psalm 34. Presenter Rodney Burrell will share tips on nutrition, core strengthening, and stretching. Also, manicures, facials, massages, and aroma therapy will be offered at cost.
Workshop III, Open Your Mouth, references I Samuel 17:45 46. The presenters will be Mrs. Patricia Weaver of Atherton Baptist Church and Mrs. Karen Brown of Liberty Baptist Church.
Advance registration is $35 (deadline June 5) and includes continental breakfast, salad bar lunch and valet parking. Registration at the door is $40.
On Sunday, June 12, at 9 a.m., the Power of Pentecost service takes place at Ruach, 12420 Normanie Avenue in Los Angeles, with guest preacher Rev. Coleman-Smart. Attendees are requested to wear red.
