MANISTEE — The Armory Youth Project is now offering two fitness classes open to all age groups: Strength & Strong and yoga. The classes are being taught by Mary Paine on Tuesdays and Thursdays through Dec. 11.

“We’re so excited to share Mary’s expertise and to be able to make these classes available to the community,” said Amy Wojciechowski, Armory executive director. “The Armory gym has over 9,000 square feet so we have plenty of room to social distance during class, along with excellent sanitizing and safety protocols.”

In order to keep participants protected, face masks are mandatory at all times.

There are two class options.

The Strength & Strong classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9 a.m. and combine full-body toning and intervals of cardio, including a warmup and cooldown. Participants should bring a set of hand weights to class along with a mat. Exercise can be modified to accommodate all levels of fitness.

The yoga classes will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10 a.m. In this class the basic, foundational yoga postures are practiced to align, strengthen and promote flexibility in the body. Breathing techniques and meditation are also integrated. All levels are welcome.

Guests are asked to bring their own exercise gear including a mat, water bottle, hand weights (not required), sweat towel, extra mask and a blanket for yoga.

The Armory is offering both walk-in and multiple class punch card options. The punch cards can be used for other Armory activities, such as pickleball. Costs are $5 per walk-in class. By purchasing punch cards, guests receive extra classes free. The costs for punch cards are:

• 11 sessions for $50 ($55 value);

• 18 sessions for $80 ($90 value); and

• 24 sessions for $100 ($120 value).

Guests can register online at https://ayp.breezechms.com/form/exercise and purchase a punch card (online only). Walk-in participants can pay at the door with cash or check. Registration can be done online without paying online. Punch cards can be purchased and used for exercise classes and/or pickleball. The punch card expires one year from the issue date. Due to the long expiration date, no refunds will be given if there are temporary shutdowns.
